In November 2021 Lisa Kraus and Jason Shellenhamer conducted a five day archaeology dig in Herring Run Park as part of a Maryland Heritage Trust grant to advance research for the Maryland Heritage Area Area funded by the Herring Run Parks Heritage Trail project. Items were found up to 5,000-9,00 years old!
